Tax ON Scare

Hi! I am a solo indie developer, and to be completely honest: I don't really play horror games because they give me nightmares.

But I wanted to make one. Why the title "Tax ON Scare"? Because society already taxes everything: rainwater, your car, your house, solar energy... Soon enough, they’ll tax the air we breathe, and eventually, they'll tax you just for getting scared by a horror game in your own bedroom.

So I decided to create a psychological horror game with a perfectly balanced spook-factor based on that absurdity. It has the dark, creepy atmosphere you expect, but the monster isn't a demon or a ghost. It's something much worse.

Tax ON Scare is a short, satirical horror experience where you must explore a dark forest, collect 5 pieces of evidence, and run to safety—all while being hunted by an existential TV mounted on a pallet jack that flashes your deepest, most raw real-life fears at you.

It’s designed to give you a good scare and a good laugh, without making you afraid to go to the toilet at night with the lights off.
